Spring weather is here and we are full of cheer! May is ahead and holds two of our biggest community events: both the East Ferris Flea Market and the East Ferris Trade Show. Come and see what your library has to offer! Some of our events this month include Game Night: Chinese Checkers, Sewing Club: Bucket Hat, DIY Wooden Family Name Signs, and Spring Wreaths.  Read on and sign up early! 

 

 

East Ferris Flea Market

May 4th, 2024

Love finding new-to-you treasures? The East Ferris Flea Market is back by popular demand! There will be clothes, books, furniture, toys amongst other goodies. Book one of the last tables now!

Birds on a Wire Painting

May 7th at 6:00 pm

Paint a modern "Family Tree" with the help of stencils and local artist Breya! Using wood generously donated by Perrons Timbermart and a few tips and tricks you'll leave with a beautiful piece of artwork that truly represents you and yours. This workshop cost is by donation.

 

Sewing Club: Bucket Hat

May 9th at 6:30 pm

Calling all trendy dressers, crafters and sewing enthusiasts for our May Sewing Club! Bring your own machine or borrow one of ours, grab some material and your sewing supplies and come make a bucket hat here at the library! All welcome.

Family Name Display

May 14th at 6:00 pm

Using live edge wood milled locally in Port Loring, stencil and stain or paint your family name on these customizable boards. This workshop cost is by donation. 

Cook Book Book Club

May 13th at 5:30 pm

This month's Cook Book Book Club has no key novel for you to aquire - just bring your specialty dish to the meeting! Bring a copy of the recipe as well to share and come have a dish with your neighbours. All welcome!

Wooden Tags

May 21st at 6:00 pm

These Distressed Decor Tags are perfect for the cabin, lake house or as a gift! Made from scrap wood they are super rustic, each sign cut with its own personality, wood grains, knots & nail holes. Display them on your mantle, bookshelf, table or tiered tray. Hang them anywhere!

DIY Planter Railing Boxes

May 28th at 6:00 pm

Make your own wreath for the spring and summer season ahead! Start with a base of organic vine and add fake florals, ribbons, stones and shells. Learn to make beautiful bows and leave with your own custom wreath! Cost is by donation, thank you!

Game: Chinese Checkers

May 29th at 6:00 pm

Come play a game of checkers here at the library! If you've never played it's easy to learn. Coffee and tea available, bring a friend or meet some new ones here at the library game nights!

East Ferris Trade Show

May 25th, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

The region's best tradeshow is back!  Over 1,200 regional residents in attendance.  Happening Saturday, May 25th at the East Ferris Community Centre.  See you there!
