With our insurance plan, you don't need to sign a transfer letter, there's no market lock-in, and you don't have to give exclusivity to SIERRA Assurance Aviation.

François Marquis and his C-FTWK aircraft stand out at Oshkosh 2022

Congratulations to François Marquis, a member of Aviateurs.Québec, who returns from Oshkosh - Air Venture 2022 with the Lindy ''CONTEMPRARY OUTSTANDING MULTIENGINE'' award for his Piper PA-30 Comanche 1968 (C-FTWK).

Hundreds of beautiful and striking aircraft arrive at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh each year in hopes of winning a Lindy Award. Few planes, compared to the terrain, leave with any reward. Even fewer walk away with a Lindy.

Appearance is factored into judging awards, but the aircraft's inherent quality of craftsmanship is also a crucial factor. Careful construction and/or restoration, as well as tireless maintenance, are essential to winning a Lindy.

A distinction of which François can be very proud...

If you want to know more about the restoration work carried out by François, he has posted a website that explains what he has done

Caution in the skies over the south shore of Quebec
Contributed by  Parachutisme Atmosphair

It's sunny and you're flying? Our paratroopers too!

Please remain vigilant when your flights take you to the Pintendre/Lévis sector (CPT9). Again this season, we observed several unannounced planes and helicopters in the area during our parachute operations...

How to avoid an unfortunate accident? Easy!

Below 1500': 5NM ahead, call on local frequency 123.20 (as stipulated in the CFS). Our pilots or the base will advise you on the operations in progress.

1500' and higher: you should be with the Quebec Terminal. This will notify you of any conflict.

Please share with your pilot friends. Thank you and good flights to all!

Blue skies

PS: the next edition of the Montreal VNC will include an information box to CPT9 in order to increase the visibility of skydiving activities. — at Parachutisme Atmosphair .

2nd Aéro Brousse Nilgaut
Contributed by Patrick Vergobbi

The 2nd Aéro Brousse on the Nilgaut strip, which was held the weekend of July 29, was a great success, given its novelty, thanks to the participation of ten planes and their crew who came to put their wheels on the runway in forest. The crew of two planes pitched their tent on the beautiful runway-side location under the spruce trees, carpet of moss and lichen beside their plane. Participants came from Ontario (Arnprior, Deep River, Burlington Park) and Quebec (Gatineau, Joliette, La Minerve, Lac Agile).

The participants were able to benefit from great facilities:

  • wi-fi, cellular connection
  • weather station for wind info, altimeter setting via Starlink network, plus Tempest weather station
  • live broadcast of weather conditions from 7:00 a.m. to noon on the Facebook page of the Amis de l'Aérodrome Nilgaut
  • BBQ and bottled water offered
  • toilet shelter
  • first aid kit
  • introducing the unique Tentsile above ground tent concept in the trees.

François Martel, the Friends of Aérodrome Nilgaut and myself would like to thank all the participants and local visitors who came to appreciate and contribute to the success of the 2nd Aéro Brousse Nilgaut. We look forward to seeing you for the 3rd Aéro Brousse Nilgaut in 2023.

On the subject of photo resolution… most “smart” phones take photos in acceptable resolution and even “high” resolution. But often, the email software used is set to send only low resolution previews. This can be corrected by the user… You can also go through a manipulation by copying the photo and pasting it into the message. It is also possible to use WeTransfer, MailDrop from Apple, Google Drive in Gmail or OneDrive from Microsoft.

THE IMPORTANT is:

  • Give a TITLE to the photo
  • Give the full NAME of the PHOTOGRAPHER
  • Give YOUR full NAME
  • Give your member NUMBER (IN RULE).

For the rest, we will consider that you have read and accepted the rules when you participate...
