THE BEDFORD SOUTH REPORT

Bedford Ferry update

Hi everyone,

In the coming days, you will be receiving a newsletter from me in your mail. As your MLA for Bedford South, one of my most important roles is to advocate for good public policy. To help me with this, I have included a small survey in that mailer. So, please take a moment to share your priorities and ideas by completing my constituency survey. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

We will be running the free tax clinic again this year from my constituency office. Many of you found this service to be very useful last year, so we are glad to offer it again throughout March and April. Please refer to the info in this e-newsletter for more details.

My office and I are always here to help you in any way that we can. So if you or someone you know is struggling, having difficulties trying to figure out how to apply for something, or where to find out government/community information, please feel free to contact us.

Bedford South has many wonderful diverse cultures and traditions. So let’s share in some of these with our neighbours and friends. Wishing Muslims a Happy Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, Persians and Baha’i a Happy Nowruz, Hindu a Happy Holi, Jewish people a Happy Passover, and from me and my family, a very Happy Easter. I hope to see many of you out and about in the community.

All the best,

Bedford Ferry Update

Great news! The Bedford Ferry to Halifax is happening. All three levels of government announced the funding, with the first sailing planned to start in 2027-2028.

This is a transformational investment for Bedford South and beyond, and a prime example of what can be accomplished when all levels of government work together to achieve big things.

I have been advocating for this project since before I was elected, but there are so many more who have been working on this idea for decades.
