2022 Grants & Donations Program

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise not-for-profit organizations that the application period for the 2022 Grants and Donations Program is now open. The deadline for applications is Friday, September 9, 2022. Eligible groups can apply for funding or subsidization for any Town-owned facilities.

The Grants and Donations Committee will make recommendations to Council on September 23, 2022, and Council will consider the recommendation of the Grants and Donations Committee on September 27, 2022. All applicants will be updated via email throughout the consideration process.

The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to announce the launch of the organization’s first corporate Facebook page. The launch of the Town’s Facebook page was included as an action item within the 2021 – 2025 Communications Strategy to strengthen communications with residents. The Facebook page will be used to share important information including news, meeting notices, project updates, employment opportunities, events, and much more.

2022 Municipal & School Board Elections

The Municipal and School Board Elections will be held on October 24, 2022. From October 14, 2022 to October 24, 2022, you can vote using the internet or telephone. Mail-in and paper ballots will not be used.

Are you on the Voters’ List? Want to be added to the Voters’ List? Has your mailing address
changed? Election staff are available at Town Hall and can advise if you are on the Voters’
List. If you are not and are eligible to vote in The Blue Mountains, staff can add you to the
Voters’ List (identification is required).

Movies in the Parks

The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to host Movies in the Parks, a free series of family-friendly movies and activities hosted bi-weekly at parks throughout the community. Entertainment is provided by The Blue Mountains Public Library.

Movies start at dusk (approximately 8:00 p.m.), and everyone is encouraged to bring their own snacks, chairs and blankets.

Featured Projects

Transportation Master Plan

On September 6, 2022, a Draft copy of the Transportation Master Plan was presented to Council in a Special Committee of the Whole Meeting. 

Now in Stage 3, the Draft Report refines the preliminary strategies and alternatives presented in Stage 2, and proposes an implementation plan to realize the ways in which the Town can improve its transportation system.

Little River Park


Contractors have started construction on the walls of the new accessible washroom facility at Little River Park in Thornbury.

Portable toilets will remain in place until construction is complete. During construction, park visitors who require full-service facilities can use the full-service public washrooms at the Thornbury Harbour.

Official Plan Review


The Official Plan Steering Committee is presenting an Information, Direction and Recommendation Report at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. 

Five options are presented in the Staff Report with Option #5 being recommended to Council.
