Canada’s largest supplier of geospatial and engineering field equipment, Cansel celebrates $1.4M donation and makes a surprise announcement to further support BCIT students

BCIT and Cansel unveiled the Cansel Computer Lab in recognition of the organization’s generous gift of Trimble Business Centre software valued at $1.4 million to the BCIT INSPIRE Campaign. In a surprise statement at the event, Cansel announced an extension of their gift ensuring students will have access to the software for an additional five years as well as two graduating achievement awards for Geomatics students for the same period of time. Read more.
 

BCIT welcomes Joanna Tong as Executive Director, BCIT Foundation

BCIT is thrilled to announce that Joanna Tong will be joining BCIT Foundation as its new Executive Director, starting November 4. With over 25 years of senior executive experience, Joanna has led several comprehensive campaigns from planning to completion. Kiewit donates $250K to BCIT for the Trades and Technology Complex and INSPIRE Campaign

BCIT and Kiewit unveiled the Kiewit Tool Room at NE4 (Carpentry) in recognition of Kiewit’s generous gift of $250,000 to INSPIRE. The Kiewit Unveiling Celebration event celebrated Kiewit’s donation in support of the future Trades and Technology Complex which will increase access, capacity, and capability to produce the skilled workforce that is needed to support BC’s current and future growth. Read more.
 

BCIT Nuclear Medicine program students to benefit from $150K in from INITIO Medical Group 

In an effort to improve the quality of healthcare and diagnosis, BCIT is proud to announce its partnership with Burnaby-based INITIO Medical Group and their donation of $150,000 to the Institute. The funding will assist a total of 27 full-time students in the BCIT Nuclear Medicine program and provide additional financial supports ranging from achievement awards, bursaries, and entrance award. BCIT Foundation announces new Directors to the BCIT Board of Governors 

BCIT Foundation is pleased to announce that Brent Charleton and Sally Parrott have joined the BCIT Board of Governors. Brent and Sally were elected by the Board of Governors during this year's Annual General Meeting held on September 20, 2024. Learn more.
 

Honouring outstanding leaders at the upcoming 2024 BCIT Distinguished Awards

On November 14, BCIT will be hosting the 19th annual Distinguished Awards, honouring four recipients with the BCIT Honorary Doctorate of Technology, Distinguished Alumni Award, Outstanding Student Leadership Award, and Faculty and Staff Association Distinguished Alumni Award. Learn more.
 

Connecting graduates with BCIT donors at the June Graduating Awards Celebration

Feelings of elation, joy, and gratitude were everywhere—from the graduating students who received awards to the donors who made it all possible during the June Graduating Awards Celebration. Held after the BCIT Spring Convocation ceremonies, donors who made an impact on students’ lives joined BCIT President, faculty, staff, and guests to celebrate recipients and their achievements.
