Importance of Pre-Workout Nutrition!

When you exercise, it places demand on your muscles which subsequently cause micro-tears. Protein intake provides the building blocks to repair these damages to facilitate growth and adaptation to exercise! To ensure your body's protein needs are met, it is important to consume high protein food post-exercise. The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition recommends consumption of 20-40 grams of protein following exercise. This will stimulate muscle protein synthesis (muscle repair and growth). Examples of high protein foods are lean meats, egg whites, tofu, beans in combination with rice, or a standard protein supplement! Be sure to stay on top of your nutrition and food intake as it can be extremely beneficial to your journey in becoming a stronger and healthier individual.
