We're hard at work!
Not surprisingly, the new national provisions coming into force has highlighted differences in the interpretation of some of the text by the APTS and the employer, generating questions and uncertainty in your work. But rest assured: we are hard at work resolving issues you may come up against.
These issues are being addressed both by your union counsellors on the ground during meetings with employer counterparts and by the national bargaining sector directly with the CPNSSS (management bargaining committee for the health and social services sector) or the ministers responsible. Progress has already been made on some fronts – including the application of double-rate overtime in 24/7 activity centres and the reimbursement of dues to a professional order – and negotiations are ongoing. We are also ensuring that the employer respects time limits for the payment of new premiums, wage increases and retroactive amounts. Depending on the case, we have filed or will file grievances to protect your rights whenever necessary.
