PROVINCIAL CONTRACT TALKS
The APTS wins an extension of premiums in Outaouais

Great news and a big victory for medical imaging technologists. After difficult negotiations with the government, the APTS won an extension of the $22,000 premium for all institutions in the region.

“This is well-earned recognition for the essential work of technologists,” said APTS president Robert Comeau. “This will help stabilize the work teams and guarantee access to care for Quebecers living in the Outaouais.”

FEMINIST ACTION
Retroactive adjustments for QPIP benefits: claim your due!

Just as it did in 2022, the Québec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) has refused to retroactively adjust QPIP benefits following retroactive salary payments resulting from the recent renewal of the collective agreement (2023-2028).

If you think your benefits have been affected, take a look at the steps to take, which we have listed on our webpage Retroactive adjustment of the QPIP. If a legal challenge is required, the APTS will add your case to the action it has initiated with the Tribunal administratif du Québec. It’s important to check your benefits and claim your due!

SOCIO-POLITICAL ACTION
Demonstrate for the world to go on

Are you tired of the Legault government’s lack of vision and decisions that ignore the current climate emergency? Here’s a chance to show how you feel by taking to the streets for the “Pour la suite du monde” demonstrations, taking place across Québec on September 27.

Consult the event’s Facebook page for details and locations of demonstrations in your region. In Montréal, the APTS invites you to join us behind the Georges-Etienne Cartier statue at 6 p.m., so we can march together. Don’t wait: put “La suite du monde” in your agenda.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
Home care and services: a new information tool

Are you a professional working in home care and services? The occupational health and safety sector highly recommends a new brochure (in French) created especially for you, entitled “La SST en soins et services à domicile” (OHS in home care and services).

The brochure informs you of the legal obligations of the employer and employees, lists the risks of working in a home setting and presents preventive measures. In 40 pages, it offers a complete overview. It was produced by the joint association for occupational health and safety in the social affairs sector (Association paritaire pour la santé et la sécurité du travail du secteur affaires sociales -- ASSTSAS), of which the APTS is a proud partner.
