Welcome back!

Starting on July 13th the annex study space will be available to the public. The Annex will be open during regular library hours with a limited capacity of 10 people. The Annex is not available for bookings at this time.

We very much want to open up our study space. Given closer proximity and longer time spent in the study space, masks are required in the Annex for now. Staff and public safety is our highest priority.

Books for Babies

Have you welcomed a baby in 2021? Come by the library to receive a FREE Books for BC Babies package.

Reading, talking, singing and having conversations with newborns are the best ways to build early language and literacy skills. Research confirms that this strong foundation is critical to a child’s ability to thrive and succeed in school and in life.

There is no easier way to get started than with a free Books for BC Babies bag from the Bowen Island Public Library.

New Catalogue Interface Coming

We are switching to a new, more user-friendly catalogue interface this summer. If you've ever used the West Vancouver Memorial Library or Vancouver Public library online catalogues, you'll be familiar with what it will look like.

In our new catalogue, you'll be able to find booklists, suggested read-alikes, save your favourites and books to read later, make your own booklists, review books, and even browse the shelves as if you're in the library!

You will not need to take any action, and no settings will change in your account. Logging in will be the same. We are just letting our patrons know to expect this change in the near future.

Once we have made the transfer to the new catalogue, staff are here to help by phone, email, and in-person if you have any questions.

Children's Book Sale

Friends of the Bowen Island Library volunters are hosting a book sale on Saturday July 10 from 10am-12 pm. This book sale will exclusively offer children's materials.

This is an outdoor event and is weather dependent.
