After-School Youth Pass

Youth, ages 8-17, can access all of our recreation centre gyms, pools, fitness centres, drop-in activities and more for just $15/month. Or drop in for $2 / day.

This monthly membership can be purchased at any City of Edmonton recreation Centre or on MoveLearnPlay.edmonton.ca

Must scan in between 1-5:30pm. Valid Monday to Friday, inclusive of all statutory holidays and school holidays. See full terms and conditions.

Play Rangers (Free Drop-in Program)

Play Rangers focuses on children and family participation, with planned special outdoor recreational activities that can be enjoyed by all. Children 6-12 years old are welcome to attend on their own.

Edmonton Public Library

Ready, Set, Read

The Ready, Set, Read initiative has now expanded to families living on the Northside of Edmonton! This partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library directly mails a free book every month for each child in the home under 5 years old. Go to any EPL location or to the website below tto get an application form or learn more. Please note: although the expansion starts Dec 1, the old eligibility details may still be on the documentation and new postal codes not yet working on the online portal. While this is the case, submit the paper form to the library or mail it in. Families can apply immediately.

Almost 2 Million Canadian Renters Are Eligible For

An Extra $500 From The Gov't

The Cost of Living Relief Act, No.2 was passed on November 17. An estimated 1.8 millioin low-income renters are eligible for a one time payment of $500.

City invites input on problem properties, nighttime economy, and property assessment

The City of Edmonton invites residents’ input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow our communities, establish government services and prepare our city for the future. Below are current opportunities for Edmontonians to shape their city.

Changing neighbourhoods to meet changing needs:

  • Problem Properties Survey. The City wants to understand the perceptions and attitudes of Edmontonians towards problem properties and their awareness of the resources available to address them. Share your feedback online between January 17 to 31 at edmonton.ca/surveys.

Building a stronger economy and increasing prosperity:

  • Nighttime Economy Survey. The public is invited to share their thoughts on how they participate in and experience the city’s nighttime economy. Share your feedback online until January 29 at edmonton.ca/surveys.
  • Property Assessment Satisfaction Survey. Property owners are invited to share their thoughts and opinions on the services and information they received from the City about property assessment. Complete the online survey by March 24 at edmonton.ca/surveys.

Hello! My name is...

Tricia Boonstra , Community Social Worker with the City of Edmonton, assigned to Callingwood North & South, Ormsby Place, and Lymburn neighbourhoods. 

Community Social Workers are connectors and conveners, located in specific neighborhoods and recreation centres. We collaborate with organizations and Edmontonians, to identify, plan and implement community-led solutions to community challenges.

By working alongside individuals, schools, organizations, businesses, and faith, grassroots, cultural and other groups, together we find innovative approaches to complex issues like social inclusion and poverty reduction.
