SHOP LOCAL BINGO
The Town is excited to partner with The Blue Mountains Chamber of Commerce to host a Shop Local Bingo contest in support of Small Business Week throughout October.

The contest encourages residents and visitors to participate in activities supporting the local business community. The contest features two weekly prizes valued at $250 and one grand prize valued at $1000 and runs from Saturday, October 1, until Friday, October 21, 2022. To enter the contest, participants must complete any five squares on the Bingo card and visit www.exploreblue.ca/bingo to enter.

Bingo cards were dropped off at businesses throughout the community. If you did not receive Bingo Cards or if you need more, please email the Economic Development team and we will stop by. Bingo cards are also available at Town Hall during regular business hours.

For more information, visit: www.exploreblue.ca/bingo.

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN
In September, staff provided an update to Council to reconfirm the direction and implementation of the Town's two Community Improvement Plans - the Housing Within Reach Community Improvement Plan and the Town-wide Revitalization Community Improvement Plan. At the meeting, Council provided direction to staff to open all programs in both the Town-Wide Revitalization Plan CIP and the Housing Within Reach CIP.

The Community Improvements Plans will serve as key grant programs available to support businesses and agencies in achieving a wide variety of economic development objectives in the community. Town staff are working behind the scenes to prepare the intake process that will be rolled out later this fall to support the 2023 program year. Please watch the Town website for updates or contact the Economic Development team for more information.

Business Spotlight -
Grey & Gold Cider

In this local business spotlight, we visit Grey & Gold Cider to learn about their operations as a sustainable, farm-based cidery in the heart of The Blue Mountains and Grey County apple country.

Owner David Baker planted the organic cider orchard and opened the bottle shop in the Spring of 2020. Today, the orchard that supports Grey & Gold Cider contains over 1,700 trees, including 29 different varieties of cider-specific and multi-purpose Heritage apples.
