Please visit our Diocesan Calendar for a more complete list of upcoming event throughout the diocese. | | Crosstalk Submissions August 26; Noon Bank Street All parishes in the Diocese are invited to walk, together, in the Capital Pride Parade to declare your mission to members of the LGBTQ2+ community. Over 125 groups will parade through downtown, starting at Bank St. and Gloucester Ave. and ending at Bank St. and Somerset St. Look for the Diocese of Ottawa banner to join our contigent. The parade begins at 1:30pm, departing from Bank and Gladstone, with participants gathering from 11:00am. The staging area for marching groups in the Pride parade is along Bank street, south of Gladstone (to Catherine), and east along Argyle (to O’Connor). View Newsletter | | Innovation Fund The deadline for submissions for the second tranche of the Diocesan Innovation Fund will be 15 September 2018 rather than 30 July 2018 as previously announced. The expectation is that successful applications will be announced by 30 September. The Innovation Fund has been established to provide grants to parishes and deaneries to explore courageously new and innovative ways of being church in support of the vision and priorities of Embracing God’s Future. The Fund seeks to support innovative and forward-thinking projects that will not only benefit the immediate project participants but also serve as a seed for the whole diocese. Grants may be made for up to $10,000 a year for a maximum of two years. More Info | | Sacred Surplus Altar Guild Facebook Group Are you a member of your Parish's Altar Guild? Join the new Group within Facebook called “Diocesan Altar Guild”. Surplus supplies (altar linens, priestly vestments, hardware/earthenware, and small furniture pieces) are the intended items to be posted. Other benefits of the Facebook Group will be to allow Altar Guild members throughout the Diocese to sharing expertise, ask questions, and offer ideas related the work of the Altar Guild. This could be developed into tools – an app, for example – that warn someone is at risk and give a chance to intervene. This knowledge is becoming accessible so how should our community act on it?
