This week’s educator resources, Shining a Light on Mental Health, provide comprehensive tools to integrate mental health education into classrooms, supporting both students and teachers in building mental health literacy and resilience. They offer engaging activities, curriculum-aligned lesson plans, and strategies to promote well-being across different grade levels.

Educator Resources:

  1. Provided by MentalHealthLiteracy.org: 1. Elementary Mental Health Literacy Resource (Grades 4-6) is a classroom-ready resource for teaching students about mental health, including engaging videos and activities; and, 2. Mental Health and High School Curriculum Guide (Version 3) offers educators a comprehensive set of tools to enhance both teachers' and students' understanding of mental health and disorders, cultivating a supportive learning environment.

  2. Provided by the Stigma-Free Mental Health Society10 Tips for Taking Care of Your Mental Health (Grades 4-7) introduces students to coping strategies for mental well-being, emphasizing the importance of early mental health education.

  3. As found on the edHUB by Jack.org, the Resources to Promote Student Mental Health is designed to help high-school educators integrate mental health promotion into their classrooms through curriculum-aligned unit plans, lesson plans, and activities.
