THE FAIRVIEW—CLAYTON PARK REPORT

Congratulations Grads, Community Achievements, and Summer Events!

Hello, Fairview Clayton Park residents!

As June wraps up and the school year comes to a close, I want to extend heartfelt congratulations to all the students, teachers, and especially the graduates for their hard work and achievements this year. Whether you are heading to work, post-secondary or back to school in September, I wish you all a joyful and restful summer break.

I'm proud to share that we successfully organized two community clean-ups this season, making Fairview Clayton Park an even more beautiful place to live and play. Thank you to everyone who participated! Your efforts make a real difference in our community. We will be organizing another clean-up in the fall, so stay tuned for details.

To celebrate the end of the school year, we’re hosting an Ice Cream Social at the Fairview Farmers Market on July 4th from 4-7 pm. Come and enjoy some delicious treats, connect with your neighbors, and celebrate the start of summer. My team and I would love to see you there!

Keep an eye on your mailboxes for my community contact card. It’s important to me that you have easy access to reach out with any concerns or suggestions and know what resources we have in our community.

I look forward to seeing you in the community this summer at the many events and activities that are planned and chat with you at the doorsteps as I continue my summer canvass check in. Your engagement is vital in making Fairview Clayton Park a wonderful place to live, and I’m here to listen and act on your behalf.

Thank you for your continued support, and have a fantastic summer!

Warm regards,

Radon Reduction Grant Program

Radon is an invisible radioactive gas that seeps into homes undetected. Long-term exposure to high levels of radon is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in Canada. The only way to know the radon levels in your home is to test.

LungNSPEI has launched this program to create greater access and to reduce barriers for Nova Scotians to be able to test their homes and remediate if high levels are found.

The Radon Reduction Grant Program is a two-pronged program that offers free long-term radon test kits to lower-income Nova Scotian households to test their homes. The program also provides grants up to $2,500 to assist with the cost of remediation for homes that have high levels.
