Safety capsule: Zoléo user? Be careful, it could happen to you.

Some of you use this type of device when in flight or outside accessible areas for security reasons. It is also very useful for sharing your flight route or tracking with your friends. For my part, I also use it when I snowmobile. Having changed snowmobiles, unfortunately, my device got stuck under the handlebars. The HIC, he stuck and activated the SOS button. The SOS button stuck on, you cannot close the device. So in constant SOS mode.

Being on a snowmobile, I did not respond to the verification calls. Imagine that my 2 emergency responders (my son and my daughter) also never responded to calls received seeing the information on their display. When I stopped for gas and checked my calls, " the only thing visible on our displays was ":

617-459-4200 Boston Massachusetts

I spoke about it with Philippe Paul from Philcomm Satellite, one of our corporate members at Aviateurs Québec, so that he could communicate with Zoleo to improve everything. In the meantime, if you use a Zoleo device, I advise you to advise your respondents to add this telephone number 617-459-4200 with the name: ZOLEO EMERGENCY to their contact list.

Benefit dinner: All-you-can-eat lobsters. Air Canada returns as main partner.

Thanks to Air Canada who once again offer us their partnership this year for the Benefit Dinner: Lobsters All You Can Eat which will be held on May 25 at the D'Amours Sugar Shack, Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines.

In fact, Air Canada is offering us two (2) round-trip tickets to travel within North America, to the West Indies, or Hawaii (excluding Mexico City) in economy class (certain restrictions apply) . Tickets for this draw will be sold exclusively during the fundraising dinner at a price of $60 each.

Let's say that your chances of winning this trip will be better than 6/49, but you will have to be present at the fundraising dinner. If you have not yet purchased your tickets for the fundraising dinner, act quickly, as the number of available places is quickly diminishing.

Tickets for our classic All-you-can-eat Lobster Benefit Dinner are available for $150 per person (tip included).

Transport Canada: AAIR mandatory again

In April 2023, Transport Canada (TC) informed aircraft owners of the temporary suspension of the Annual Airworthiness Information Report (AAIR) with exemption RCN-003-2023 . Aircraft owners were then advised to retain their 2022 RAINA data as it would be required at a later date.

At the beginning of January, you should have received an email from Transport Canada informing you of the complete reopening of the AAIR portal, and that you will have until March 30, 2024 to submit two years of data (2022 and 2023) in order to to meet the RAINA requirements for 2024.

We have a quick survey we would like you to participate in. We invite you to go to the French version of this newsletter where you will find this survey. Thank you for your collaboration.
