The Fraser Highway One-Way Project will improve the area for our businesses, residents, and visitors. It includes replacing aging underground infrastructure and revitalizing the Fraser One-Way with more greenery, new gathering spaces, and better pedestrian amenities.

Road closure and detour in effect:
Fraser Highway from 204 Street to Salt Lane 

As Phase 2 construction begins, Fraser Highway between 204 Street and Salt Lane will be closed to vehicle traffic and on-street parking. The road is anticipated to reopen by the end of August 2025. Pedestrian access will remain open along all areas of the project and wayfinding signage has been posted to help identify business locations. Detour information is shown in the map below.

Completed work

Installation of Phase 2 fencing and signage

Fencing and wayfinding signage have been installed between 204 Street and Salt Lane to support the transition to the second phase of construction.


 

Ongoing and upcoming works

Boulevard Surface Upgrades

New soil is being placed to help strengthen the upgraded boulevards to be constructed in front of businesses. 

Road surface removal 

The asphalt and concrete road surfaces within the second phase of construction between 204 Street and Salt Lane will be removed in preparation for their replacement.


 

Things to know as construction continues

Construction will generally occur during the day, but some work may take place on weekends or at night. Noisy construction activities won’t be allowed at night. Learn more about the City's Noise Control Bylaw.

As construction continues, vibrations will occur.

• Limited off-street parking is available between Salt Lane and 206 Street.

Work progress dates are based on anticipated construction schedules and may change as work continues.


 

Businesses are open

Access to businesses along the Fraser Highway One-Way will be maintained. You can enter these businesses through their front doors

Traffic control signage and personnel will ensure safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles during construction.

Free parking available throughout the Fraser Hwy One-Way in phases

• Phase 2 (May–Aug 2025): some parking will be available on the One-Way between 206 Street and Salt Lane.

• Langley City Hall: 37 free parking stalls
