La pertinence d’une innovation en santé : dans la réflexion d’une organisation à propos de l’introduction d’une innovation, la notion de sa pertinence doit être abordée tant a priori qu’a posteriori. Il est en effet essentiel de démontrer la pertinence d’une innovation avant de considérer son intégration dans un milieu donné.

Cette étape est indispensable pour convaincre tous les intervenants de la nécessité d’implanter une innovation et d’investir les ressources nécessaires à la réalisation des changements qu’elle induira. Elle doit être démontrée au cours des différentes étapes du cycle de l’innovation, depuis sa création jusqu’à son implantation et sa valorisation, et au-delà même de celle-ci, afin d’estimer son obsolescence et la retirer (ex-novation).

Cette pertinence a plusieurs dimensions. Elle peut être directe pour les patients et les équipes, indirecte pour l’organisation ou ses partenaires, collatérale en ce qui a trait au rayonnement et à l’attractivité.
