BLUE MEANS BUSINESS TOOL KIT
The Town is thrilled to announce the launch of its first business tool kit. The Blue Means Business Tool Kit serves as a key resource for anyone aspiring to locate, relocate, or expand their business operations in the Town - providing valuable information to assist your goals. The tool kit includes access to key contacts, local networks, municipal information, and resources available to support your business' success and growth for years to come. TOWN LAUNCHES RESIDENT SATISFACTION SURVEY
The Town has launched a resident satisfaction public survey to gain feedback to help inform future decision-making, budgeting and priority setting.

The survey consists of two sections. The first section seeks to understand resident satisfaction related to service delivery, customer service and communication, financial management and leadership. The second section seeks to understand resident satisfaction with Town-owned infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, bridges, water and wastewater systems, and recreational facilities/amenities.

The survey will be available until Sunday, June 26, 2022, and can be accessed by visiting the project webpage. Paper copies are available upon request by calling 519-599-3131 ext. 295 or through pickup at Town Hall and The Blue Mountains Public Library.
 

DISCOVERY WEEK & THE RURAL ONTARIO MEDICAL PROGRAM ENGAGE MEDICAL STUDENTS TO CONSIDER RURAL MEDICINE
On May 26 the Joint Municipal Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee (JMPRRC) hosted eleven medical students from the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) and four first-year medical students from Western University.

The students were given a guided scenic paddle tour by Free Spirit Tours in Heathcote of the Beaver River and visited the Thornbury Cidery and the Bruce Wine Bar in Thornbury during the activities coordinated by the Joint Municipal Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee (JMPRRC).

The JMPRRC is a joint committee comprised of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, Town of The Blue Mountains, the Township of Clearview and the Town of Collingwood. To learn more, click here.

Movies in the Parks

The Town of The Blue Mountains Economic Development Team is also excited to announce the launch of outdoor family movie nights for the 2022 summer season.

The free series of family-friendly movies will be hosted bi-weekly at parks throughout the community. Before each movie night, there will be exciting pre-show entertainment and a variety of children’s activities provided by The Blue Mountains Public Library.

The movies will start at dusk (approximately 8:30 – 9:00 p.m.), and everyone is encouraged to bring their own snacks, chairs and blankets. We can’t wait to see you there!

Government Support & News

DIGITAL MAINSTREET - DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION GRANT
The Digital Transformation Grant (DTG) program will provide funding for training, advisory support, and grants to brick-and-mortar small businesses looking to increase their capacity through digital transformation.The grant is administered by the Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA), and is not administered by Digital Main Street. The portal will be opened in June 2022 and applications will be accepted until October 31st, 2022. To learn more, click here.

CANADA DIGITAL ADOPTION PROGRAM
The application intake for the Canada Digital Adoption Program is now open. Eligible businesses will receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with the costs related to adopting e-commerce and supported by a network of e-commerce advisors. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, you will be introduced to an e-commerce advisor who can help with your e-commerce strategy. The South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre has been awarded a contract to run Digital Main Street/Digital Service Squad 4.0 programming in South Georgian Bay until March 31st 2024.
