Inspection of vegetation along sidewalks throughout Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue

In many areas of the city, private vegetation encroaches on municipal sidewalks. This situation causes major inconveniences for various sidewalk users, particularly seniors, people with limited mobility, and pedestrians with strollers.

Furthermore, this vegetation poses an inherent risk to pedestrians who are forced to use the roadways to get around.

To ensure that sidewalks remain safe and accessible to everyone, the City will conduct an inspection of vegetation along sidewalks throughout its entire territory over the next few weeks.

This means that:

Residents whose vegetation encroaches on municipal sidewalks and public roads must trim said vegetation as soon as possible.
Those who fail to comply with this notice will receive a notice from the municipal patrol, with a deadline, to trim their hedges, shrubs, etc. Failure to do so may result in the issuance of citations by the municipal patrol.
Vegetation belonging to the City will be trimmed by the Public Works Department.
