Changes in family physician practice patterns

CIHI released a report providing a high-level look at how family physician practice patterns have changed over the last decade.The findings suggest a growing number of family physicians are providing services outside of primary care, including emergency medicine and psychiatry.

Experiences of homelessness and dementia

New research from ICES found that dementia in unhoused people is nearly two times greater than in the general population. The population-based study found that the difference was greatest between the ages of 55 to 64, suggesting the need for screening at a younger age.

Changes in the living environments of babies 

Findings from the first report based on the Institut de la statistique du Québec's longitudinal study Growing Up in Québec found that the families of babies born in the early 2020s are in seemingly better economic situations than families of babies born 20 years earlier.

Public trust & use of administrative health data

A new study in PLOS One, co-authored by HDRN Canada Lead Dr. Amit Garg, found that members of the public were receptive to the use of administrative health data to identify and contact people at risk of kidney disease, but with specific conditions around public notification.
