Staying Informed About COVID-19

Dear BC Sepsis Network,

We have been closely following the COVID-19 outbreak and listening to guidance from those leading our health care system’s response.

The BC Centre for Disease Control has published COVID-19 information for health care professionals and public health partners which you can check regularly for the latest cases and testing, case definition, bulletins as well as laboratory and infection control guidance. You can also check in with your manager or clinical leadership with any site-specific questions you have. Here is an article, published in JAMA on Wednesday, on caring for critically ill patients with COVID-19.

Why Cancelling Events and Self-Quarantining is So Important

Flattening the Curve

Additionally, earlier this week Minister of Health Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry emphasized social distancing in order to prevent transmission of infection and protect people who are more likely to have severe illness. The BCCDC also has information on how to self-isolate and avoid contact with others.

Thank you to everyone who is playing a role in providing safe, high-quality care throughout BC’s response to COVID-19. We are proud of you and strongly support you.
