A special invitation is sent to all pilots, friends of pilots from Montérégie, Center of Quebec and Estrie to join us for our annual meeting of the lobster dinner.

This year, we will meet on May 25 at the La Madeleine Golf Club near Saint-Hyacinthe, less than 1.5 km from exit 120 of the A-20.

This dinner will also be an opportunity for all to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the APBQ and those who helped make it an association that has become Aviateurs.Québec, the largest French-speaking group of pilots in the Americas.

For the third year we will have our silent auction on the internet and a shout auction which will be hosted by the friendly Gaston Lepage.

Ticket prices are currently $ 85 each or $ 800 for a table of 10.

Starting May 6, prices will be $ 100 each or $ 950 for a table of 10.

What is Airmedic?

Airmedic offers aeromedical assistance and transportation services throughout Quebec. It is important to mention the AVQC-2019 code when calling Customer Service at 1-866-673-3838 ext. 2 .

The following table provides details on this benefits program.

Note that the AVQC-2019 promotion is not combinable or combinable with another Airmedic offer.

A CANADIAN SEAPLANE IN MARTINIQUE

On April 25th, one of our members, Alain Priem d'Hydravion Aventure landed at Martinique in a Cessna 206. It was the conclusion of a long convoy for Alain. For the SAS Caribbean Hydravion team, it was the beginning of a new adventure that will bring a Cessna 2016 tourist flight service to this Caribbean region.

Click on the picture on the left for a photo and video report.

You will see among others the photo of Gilles Lapierre welcoming Alain Priem at the pier. Coincidentally, Gilles Lapierre - our outgoing president, was on a trip to Martinique and was able to welcome Martinique to his friend Alain.

GENERAL AVIATION SAFETY CAMPAIGN

The general aviation safety campaign is in full swing in Quebec.

On the weekend of April 27 and 28, 96 pilots participated  in the presentation of Module 1 of the General Safety Campaign . It was happening in Saint-Honoré, Mont-Tremblant and Lac-à-la-Tortue. On the photo, participants at the training at the airport of Sa Int-Honore.

These presentations, offered by Aviateurs.Québec in collaboration with Transport Canada and COPA, qualify for the purpose of updating knowledge (CAR 421.05).

The evaluations received following the presentation of these courses are very positive. The participating pilots especially appreciated the collaborative form that the presentation generates.

Aviateurs.Québec will advise you of upcoming training. In the meantime, we invite you to visit the Transport Canada site on the General Aviation Safety Campaign for more information. Click here to visit this site.

NEUVILLE AIRPORT - NOISE MITIGATION MEASURES

Noise mitigation measures are in effect at Neuville Airport.

We invite you to consult the document posted by Aéroclub de Neuville by clicking on the image on the left.

PARACHUTISM OPERATIONS - JOLIETTE REGION

For several years, we have observed over the Joliette region an increase in air traffic on floats, on wheels and under rotor. Until then, no problem, since we are not in a restricted area (CYR) but consultative (CYA).

There are two advisory areas that we want to bring to your attention:

CYA 632 - aerodrome of Lourdes-de-Joliette

CYA 645 - aerodrome of Saint-Esprit

A CYA is defined by:

An airspace within which an activity is to be conducted for which non-participating aircraft pilots should be informed, for reasons of air safety, including training, skydiving, free flight and military operations. There are no special restrictions on the use of advisory airspace. However, VFR aircraft are encouraged to avoid flying in advisory airspace unless they participate in the activity that takes place there. ( AIM RAC 2.8.6 )

In 2017, we documented 10 potentially dangerous events, commonly known as "pass-close". During these events, the aircraft were close enough to potentially cause injury or death to parachutists in free fall or under cover. Of these 10 events, 4 involved helicopters, 4 fleet aircraft and 2 wheeled aircraft. In all cases, the aircraft were on a private pleasure flight.

For your safety and those of these paratroopers, consult the NOTAMs and the CFS during your flight planning.

GAS REBATE TO OUR MEMBERS

A reminder that our members benefit from gasoline discounts at many airports in Quebec.
