Capsule on aviation safety: Traffic in conflict

I am talking to you today about the famous message traffic in conflict . Inspired by Bernard Lavoie's great initiative at the Casey aero camping week-end on Labour day, where this pilot and veteran of the Casey rendez-vous decided to take matters into his own hands to make the community of pilots aware of the messages on 126.7. He had an original and humorous idea to get his message across. So let me relay this one to you

New Aviateurs.Québec web platform

Good news, our new web platform will go online next week. A special newsletter will be published for this purpose.

For some time now, we have been busy revamping the Aviateurs.Québec website with our partner Viglob . The goal of this project was to completely update the interfaces with the user and make them up to date and above all more user-friendly. We also took the opportunity to add new functionalities such as an online store, the possibility of creating and managing a microsite for our affiliated associations, a photo album, a special Service PLUS section and we hope for a more intuitive navigation.

This change was a big challenge in order to be even better and give you more. And it is with your help and feedback that we can be even better. If you have comments or suggestions for improving our site, write to us at webmestre@aviateurs.quebec .

Here are some screen captures taken from the new platform.

Jimmy Delalin, priest and pilot on the Côte-Nord

L'abbé Jimmy Delalin missionary on Côte-Nord

I was hoping to get the scoop but here it is… a pilot who evolves on the Côte-Nord there is not a lot of them and priest in addition so there… it is like the "character" attracting attention. An article in the Trait d'Union du Nord by Guillaume rosier in 2015 (Awarded by AMECQ in 2016) and a recent interview on Radio-Canada Côte-Nord radio by Guillaume Hubermont (Boréale 138 broadcast) and here I am with my desire to know a little more.

It's hunting time, think Airmedic

A reminder that members of Aviateurs.Québec benefit from a 20% discount

Each year, the same scenario is repeated for the prehospital intervention teams of Airmedic. Hunters are confronted with unexpected situations during their journey. Fall from their hiding place, gun accident and illness are just a few examples of cases leading to a medical evacuation by helicopter.

Here is the story of such an accident, as reported by Radio-Canada. Click HERE

Thanks to an exclusive agreement, members of Aviateurs Québec benefit from a 20% discount on their Airmedic subscription . If you are going hunting this year, subscribe to 1-866-673-3838 with the promo code AVQC2020.

Capsule on photography, Jean-Pierre Bonin

A bit by chance, David Moura allowed me to find two videos of a conference that I had the pleasure of giving in Quebec the day before the “Deux-Rives” Air Show in 2016.

The conference focused on aviation photography and was adapted from a presentation I made at Club Photo Laval and also derived from a series of 9 articles published in L'Aviateur magazine.

I tell myself that some former students (and students) will smile if they watch it for even a few minutes ... I must have looked a lot like this in my teaching years in the late '70s and early' 80s (but with hair...)

It's crazy how I ramble! Without text, the simple sight of the photo and off I go!

The only downside probably concerns the ISO. My "lowest ISO" matra is admittedly still valid on several game entry camera boxes, but it must be recognized that immense progress has been made and "raising ISO" is no longer something to be avoided. .. I would say do your tests and find the limit of your device acceptable to you ...

Thank you Martin Yqb Aviation for the invitation, thank you David Moura for having captured everything on video and thank you Helene Lavigne for accompanying me this time again.

A first capsule is presented today. Capsule # 2 will follow in the next issue of the newsletter. Good viewing.
