Water and Wastewater Servicing Allocation Policy

The Town has identified constraints facing its water and wastewater treatment facilities and conveyance systems. While there are capital projects either in the design or construction stages to alleviate these constraints, the rate of growth in the community has been outpacing the completion of these projects.

The Town is developing a Water and Wastewater Servicing Allocation Policy to ensure that existing system capacity is allocated in a sustainable and strategic manner. A Public Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2024, to allow members of the public to share feedback on the proposed policy. More information regarding how to submit comments or make a statement at the meeting can be found on the project web page.

Emergency Preparedness Week

May 5 - 11 is Emergency Preparedness Week!

This year, the theme is Be Prepared. Know Your Risks. The intent of the theme is to encourage Canadians to understand the risks in their area and learn what actions they can take to protect themselves and their families.

The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department reminds residents to take action to ensure you are prepared to protect yourself, your family and your community during an emergency.

Here are some helpful tips to remember:

  • Know the risks – Although the consequences of disasters can be similar, knowing the risks specific to your community and your region can help you better prepare.
  • Make a plan – It will help you and your family know what to do
  • Get an emergency kit – During an emergency, we will all need some basic supplies. We may need to get by without power or tap water. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours in an emergency.
