This week’s educator resources, Caring is Healing, focus on mental health and well-being in schools, offering tools to teach kindness, support inclusivity, and implement trauma-informed, healing-centred practices.

Educator Resources:

  1. Provided by the Mental Health Foundation, the Why Kindness Matters – School Pack includes resources to help students understand how kindness improves mental health and how to practice kindness toward themselves and others.

  2. Provided by Diverse Educators, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Toolkit is a comprehensive collection of resources to help schools develop inclusive, culturally-sensitive approaches to mental health and well-being, cultivating a whole-school approach to resilience and self-care.

  3. Provided by Tufts University's Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching, the Trauma-Informed/Healing-Centered Engagement Teaching Resources provide educators with strategies to create inclusive, trauma-informed, and healing-centred learning environments that support students' well-being and resilience. Note: The resources also include the Truth for Teachers podcast, which provides bi-weekly encouragement for educators and consistently ranks in the top K-12 podcasts in the world.
