We Are Looking for a Few More Volunteers!

Do you love the Library? We have an important fundraising opportunity coming up, and we would love your help!

Please let us know by this Saturday, October 8 if you can help! If we cannot fill all the shifts, we will have to give up this fundraising opportunity.

Sorting and packing refundable drink containers at the Bowen Island Recycling Depot is a much-valued source of funds for the Library every year.

If you have time to help us raise funds (while moving your body, getting some fresh air, and meeting other amazing library supporters), please let us know by Saturday, October 8!

The shifts are:

Tuesday, October 25:

  • 8:30-11:30 - 3 helpers needed
  • 11:30-2:20 - 2 helpers needed

Tuesday, November 1:

  • 8:30-11:30 - 2 helpers needed
  • 11:30-2:20 - 3 helpers needed

Each shift needs at least 2 strong people to lift 30 lb totes full of glass bottles. Instructions on how to sort and pack the bottles will be given at the beginning of each shift.

Interested in helping out? Please email us at info@bowenlibrary.ca with your shift preference, and we will happily slot you in!

Thank you to those who have already responded and filled shifts!
