| Public Service Announcements and News Releases | Continued advancement on the new long-term care home in La Ronge | The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced that construction on the La Ronge long-term care home has reached 75 per cent completion. βThe new long-term care home in La Ronge will significantly increase capacity in a modern, welcoming environment closer to home for northern residents,β said Julia Pemberton, Vice President, Integrated Northern Health, Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). βThe design features culturally meaningful spaces that will help residents feel connected and respected. We are pleased to see continued advancement on this important project.β The new three-story facility will consist of 80 private rooms with bathrooms, increasing capacity by 64 beds from the current space. The home will also feature shared living areas, family rooms, a commercial kitchen and cafeteria, a serenity room and traditional healing space. The home will be owned and operated by the SHA, with the Government committing approximately $100 million to the project. The La Ronge and Area Long-Term Care Funding Committee is working to raise funds for furniture, fixtures and equipment. | Expanded Child Health Clinic Services now available in Saskatoon | Starting the week of June 28, additional evening appointments and newly introduced Saturday clinics will be available for families in the Saskatoon area for Child Health Clinic services. These clinics are also an opportunity for public health nurses to provide screening, support, and information to families to further promote healthy growth and development. | Findings of Lloydminster health services needs assessment released | A new report has provided insights into the current state of health-care delivery in the Lloydminster area. | SHA CARES - Living our Values | A small sticker can make a big difference for children living with diabetes. Continuous glucose monitors track blood sugar levels throughout the day for those with diabetes, and help guide treatment decisions, supporting better overall health and preventing complications. But for many kids, wearing a sensor isnβt always easy. Thatβs where a recent community initiative led by members of the Saskatoon Blades is trying to help. | Staff Safety Talk - Communicable Disease Prevention | If your work activities involve a risk of splash or splatter exposure, you must wear appropriate facial protection - specifically a medical mask and eye protectionβwhenever there is a risk of exposure to blood, body fluids, or respiratory secretions. This protection helps safeguard your mouth, nose, and eyes from splashes or sprays that can occur during patient care. See our Staff Safety Talk for more information on selecting the correct protection. | Occupational Health Committee (OHC) Resource Centre - migration notice | The OHC Resource Centre is migrating to a new SharePoint site to upgrade our platform and resources. Key Project Details Timeline (June 18 to July 18, 2026): - Migrating 285 OHC subsites
- System Impact Read-Only Access - Existing sites remain open for viewing.
- Activity Hold: Uploading, editing, and permission changes are paused
| eHealth - 2026 is a health card renewal year | Health cards for most Saskatchewan residents are set to expire on Dec. 31, 2026. Starting this fall, eHealth will mail renewal stickers to individuals currently eligible for Saskatchewan health coverage. eHealth is currently reminding people to make sure their address and family information on file with eHealth are up-to-date. Without a current address, stickers are returned β meaning people are missing that important proof of eligibility for coverage. Watch for regular updates throughout the health card renewal process. If your patients or clients have questions, please direct them to ehealthsask.ca for more information. And if youβve moved or your family unit has changed in the last three years, remember to let eHealth know. Visit ehealthsask.ca for more information about health cards and health card renewal. | Survey: Share your feedback on Translation Services | Submit by: July 17, 2026 SHA is seeking employee feedback about Translation and Interpretation Services. While these services support patient care, this survey is open to all staff, not just those who currently use them. Your input will help improve Translation and Interpretation Services and support safe, high-quality care delivery throughout the province. For more information, contact Translation and Interpretation Services. | Policy Reviews and Changes | Artificial Intelligence (AI) Acceptable Use Policy (SHA-07-008) | All SHA Team Members are required to review this policy that is now in effect. | Preventing Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) - Update | A new provincial Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) prevention strategy has been developed in alignment with best practice clinical guidelines and Accreditation Canada Required Organizational Practices. The following resources are currently available for training purposes in Document Finder, the PIER Catalogue, and the VTE Prophylaxis β Clinical Resources webpage. These resources apply to all adult acute care inpatient units, including critical care and maternity. All clinical acute care staff and physicians are required to review the new documents prior to implementation. Implementation Resources: A pilot implementation will begin on July 15, 2026, at Saskatoon acute care sites, followed by provincial rollout on September 16, 2026. Questions: shaordersets@saskhealthauthority.ca or policy@saskhealthauthority.ca | Clinical Standards Status Report | The Clinical Standards Status Report is a live resource providing up-to-date information on provincial clinical standards document development. It is accessible to both SHA staff and external partners. Hosted in Smartsheet, the report includes details such as the development phase, document type, related education materials, and anticipated publication timelines. Leadership, educators, and point-of-care staff are encouraged to review the report regularly to support implementation planning and training awareness. The Interprofessional Practice team and Document Development leads update the report at least once a month to ensure the information remains current. | Events and Professional Development | Belonging, Diversity, and Inclusion - Microaggressions vs. Microaffirmations | π
