Dear Cole Harbour—Dartmouth Residents,

The summer of 2023 is definitely one that will be remembered by many in good ways and in disastrous ways. The weather events causing flooding to many areas is cause for concern and highlights the need for emergency preparedness. As the critic for Emergency Management, I would welcome hearing your thoughts on this critical matter.

It seems the cooler temperatures have many feeling summer is over for this year. With that, comes preparing for back to school and all that it encompasses.

In all of life's hecticness, please take time to find enjoyment in all you do. August does provide us with that opportunity to slow down and be mindful of what matters to us. Enjoy what remains of this month, and in doing so, stay healthy and safe.

Thank you to all who have reached out to me with your concerns. I truly appreciate hearing from you. I am always here to listen and to advise.

Please contact my office should you have a matter to discuss.

It is an honour and a privilege to represent you in the Nova Scotia Legislature.

Emergency Planning & Preparation

It is important to be as prepared as possible for an emergency situation. I have shared important resources in the past covering quick tips for everyone to use as a guide on what to do in the different emergency situations we could face across our province.

Refer to these Are you Ready? tips for assisting persons with disabilities/frail/older seniors.

Take the time to review your plans with all members of your household so everyone can be prepared.
