Indigenous History Month

Events in Edmonton

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada. Formally declared in 2009, Canadians are encouraged to take time to learn of the history, heritage, resiliency and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. In Edmonton, the City is continuing its support of local Indigenous organizations and communities this year by highlighting locally-organized events, sharing learning resources, and much more being offered during the month. To browse our calendar of events for the many Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations happening throughout Edmonton at edmonton.ca/indigenoushistorymonth .
