Call for Patient Reviewers

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research is looking for people willing to give their time as patient reviewers for a number of upcoming research grants and award competitions.

Patient reviewers play an important role in the research proposal review process by contributing their lived experience and expertise in patient engagement. Each competition has specific review criteria, and patient reviewers provide a perspective that complements that of reviewers from the academic and scientific communities. This learning module provides an overview of what to expect when participating in peer review activities.

Review committee meetings will be conducted virtually and will run through at least the end of 2023. Participants receive an allowance of $50 per day for every day that a committee meeting takes place, in addition to the reimbursement of dependent care costs if required.
