City of Kimberley Financial Statement Highlights for the year ended December 31, 2025 - Presentation by Mario Piroddi, BDO Canada LLP
Mario Piroddi, a representative from the City's external auditor, BDO Canada LLP, attended the meeting to present highlights from the City’s 2025 financial audit. The auditor reviewed several key findings, including variances between budgeted and actual grant revenues from senior levels of government. These variances relate primarily to the wastewater treatment plant project, with funding expected to be realized as construction progresses. BDO has issued their audit opinion indicating that the financial statements present fairly, the financial position of the City as at December 31, 2025. Council was also advised that the audit was completed on schedule and in accordance with the approved audit plan. Later in the meeting, Council approved the 2025 Audited Financial Statements as presented. The full audited financial statements will be released as part of the City of Kimberley’s 2025 Annual Report, which will be available soon.
Building Bridges ATV Use on City Streets - Presentation by Rod Duggan and Tom Kramer, ATV BC
The Elk Valley ATV Association presented a proposal for an interconnected, multi‑use regional trail system linking Coleman to Creston. The concept would use existing Forest Service Roads and allow regulated access through Kimberley, enabling travellers to use designated municipal routes to reach local accommodations, shops, and restaurants. Access within communities would be managed through RCMP-issued Operational Permits under the Motor Vehicle Regulations.
