Cornwall Pride

July 14; 10:30am
Cornwall

Last year a small group of Anglicans marched in the Cornwall Pride Parade. It was the first time a church organization had ever participated in the local event and our presence was well appreciated. This year parishes from across the area will be marching in the parade together. Our goal is simple: to celebrate God’s love for all people! Everyone is welcome to march in the parade, greet participants along the route, or join the in fun at park afterward. This is an all-ages event.

The festivities take place Saturday July 14 in Cornwall:
10:30 meet at CCVS
11:00 parade begins
12:00 festivities continue at Lamoureux Park

St. John the Evangelist, Ottawa
154 Somerset Street W

To support congregations and their leaders, a new resource, Giving our Thanks & Praise (including I Intend – an introductory discipleship program) has been developed by the Anglican Church of Canada.  This is a resource for encouraging and facilitating faithful, intentional and generous responses to God’s mission in congregations. So far the reviews are very positive. The Giving our Thanks & Praise program provides “a very enjoyable and helpful experience with lots of choices.” “Our ministers and lay leaders loved the kit.”

This program will be launched in the Diocese of Ottawa beginning with the deaneries of the Cathedral, Ottawa Centre and Ottawa West. The orientation day, led by Susan Graham Walker, will explore the theology of stewardship, and will provide best practices and hands-on training for parish teams to bring the Giving our Thanks & Praise program back to their congregations
