CLIENT SUCCESS STORY

Elaine’s story: "On the day I finished my practicum and my ECE course, I was offered a job"

I had been unemployed for more than one year. At the time, I did not have a local academic certificate. A friend told me about WorkBC and that they could help me find a stable job. When I visited the Midtown WorkBC Centre for the first time, the receptionist helped match me with my Case Manager, Ann Bo.

Ann helped me a lot. She helped me build my case and gave me many suggestions. Based on my skills, previous education and work experience, Ann helped me apply for further studies and got me enrolled in the local Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificate program.

After I finished my course, Tracey Lo (Employment Facilitator) helped me modify my resume and cover letter, which was really helpful. On the day I finished my practicum and my ECE course, I was offered a job in a daycare as an on-call employee. One month later, I became a full-time employee. Ann and Tracey helped me get a job very quickly. Thank you for the help and support.
