| March meeting is in-person 🙋♀️👩🎤👩💼👨🎨🧕👩👧🧙♀️ It feels like we’ve turned a corner (no sewing pun intended, haha). The days are getting a little longer, the weather is a little better, and the zoom meetings are done for now. There’s a lot planned for our next meeting, so here’s the rundown: 1. Yard-age Sale Bring quilt-related things you wanna sell at our pop-up yard sale. Make sure everything is priced and fits in a shallow box or tub with your name on it. Bring a small box or tupperware container with your name on it so people can place their money into it—we’re doing the honour system for payment so everyone can browse what’s for sale at once. 2. Block Lotto Bonanza Bring your block lotto blocks from Jan—Puzzle Patch, Feb—Love Note, and March—Improv Wavy Curves. We’re drawing for all three!!! 3. WIPs 2023 + 2024 We’re drawing for the 2023 WIP program. Bring your toonies, you can sign up for your 2024 WIPs. More details below. | We’re having a yard sale at our March meeting! Here’s your opportunity to go through your stash of quilt-related items that you no longer want or need, things like fat quarters, usable scraps of fabric, quilt tools (rulers, cutting tools, etc.), notions (thread, needles, pins, bobbins, etc.), quilt books, even orphan blocks could be of use to another member. Please gather your items and organize them into baggies or bundles and price them. If you have lots of usable fabric scraps, please organize them by colour. We suggest pricing items for $1, $2, $5 and $10, depending on the item. Put your items into a box or small bin with your name on it, and bring a box or tin for your sales. We’ll set up tables and anyone who wants to participate can place their boxes/bins on a table. The Yard Sale will take place over our meeting break. We’ll also have our usual free table too. Whatever isn’t taken/sold, we ask that you collect your items after the meeting. Donations to the VMQG from your sales are greatly appreciated 😊 Donations for door prizes are also much appreciated! | Block Lotto Bonanza At our March 18th meeting, we’ll have three block lotto draws: Jan, Feb and March blocks!!! 💚🌈💚🌈💚🌈🍀 | Block Lotto in Bulk Keep an eye on the block lotto section of our website, we’ve posted block lotto instructions in bulk so you can select the blocks you like and have more time to sew them up! BIG thanks to Sue and our block lotto block testers for all their work. | | March Block Lotto—Improv Wavy Curves Cutting and sewing wavy curves is a popular technique in modern quilting and is easy and fun to do. If you haven’t tried this technique, or are inspired to give it a go, this is your opportunity! I’m a Vancouver based fabric designer that shares your passion for quilting and everything fabric. I’m in the preliminary stages of exploring the potential for a new venture—a dedicated marketplace and community for quilters to buy, sell, swap fabrics, and foster connections. Before advancing further, I’m keen to understand if this aligns with your needs and interests. Would you be willing to contribute your insights through a brief, 10 minute survey? Your feedback will be the key ingredient that helps shape this idea into a dynamic platform, perfectly crafted to enhance and celebrate your quilting adventures. If you’d like to participate in the survey, please click here. Token of appreciation They will randomly select one participant to receive a $50 gift certificate to Dressew. | VMQG + CHV call for volunteers Would you like to share your knowledge and skills at sewing workshops for youth at Covenant House Vancouver?
