Being proactive in the drought

With the drought currently affecting a sizeable part of Outaouais, Laurentides, and Laval, we are already seeing impacts on hay and field crops. We wish to remind you that the Financière agricole (FADQ) requires a notice of damage in cases where yields are affected; this is an essential step for those wishing to obtain compensation.

Farmers struggling with the drought need to know that it is important to keep a record of the situation (with photos, invoices, etc.). These records may be used by the Federation, which maintains close contact with the FADQ. FADQ officials have shown themselves to be sensitive to the current situation.

New faces at the accounting and income tax service

A number of new employees are joining the accounting and tax service this summer.

Johanne Chalifoux joined the team on June 22 as administrative assistant, lending her support to the Agriconseils network, the management advisory service, and the tax service. Manon Lessard, accounting technician, will come aboard on July 6. Finally, Line Rioux will be helping with the payroll service as of July 13. Also note that Marie-Claude Boucher, who joined the Federation in January, recently began her duties as an accounting technician for the payroll service.

On behalf of the entire Federation team, we wish our newcomers good luck and great success in their new roles.
