Dear residents of Cole Harbour-Dartmouth,

It continues to be an honour to serve as your MLA in Cole Harbour Dartmouth.

In my visits across our constituency, I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to hear directly about how you are feeling. Whether a senior on a fixed income, a working family, or a young person trying to put down roots in Cole Harbour Dartmouth, everyone is saying the same thing: it’s becoming too expensive to live in Nova Scotia.

During this Spring Session of the Legislature, we continue to advocate for more ways to keep money in your pocket, like lowering the HST by two percentage points, bringing sales tax down to 13% - the lowest in Atlantic Canada.

I’m pleased to see the province move forward with other ideas that we have been advocating for, like reducing income taxes, implementing a universal school lunch program, and funding continuous glucose monitors for diabetics.

If my office can be of any assistance to you, please reach out via email at info@loreleinicollmla.ca, by phone 902-701-2245, or on socials @loreleinicollmla.ca.

Respectfully,

Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet®

Allow me to introduce you to the talent of Hannah Mae Cruddas, a native of Dartmouth, who began her dance training with the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts School of Dance and the Leica Hardy School of Dance before joining Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto.

Hannah Mae has been fortunate to receive various awards and scholarships including the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts through the Nova Scotia Talent Trust.

She is currently in her 10th season with Canada’s Ballet Jörgen and has danced in many of Jörgen’s works.

In 2019, the title role of Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet® was created for Hannah Mae by Bengt Jörgen.

Hannah will be performing as Anne at the Dalhousie Arts Centre for two shows only on April 23 & 24. Get your tickets today! Don’t miss your chance to see original choreography and our own local ballerina, Hannah Mae Cruddas.

Pickles the Osprey

Congratulations to a local Dartmouth based author, Connie Dennis.

Connie has written an educational, children’s book about Portland Estates’ beloved Osprey - Pickles, and his family that have been at the nest at Russell Lake for many years.

It captures the story of Pickles the Osprey and is raising funds for Hope for Wildlife.

It’s a wonderful, fun filled book with lots of interesting facts and photos taken by her husband Don Dennis, and illustrations by Greg David.

You can catch Connie and Don Dennis at Chapters Dartmouth on Saturday, April 6 where they will be signing copies of their book.
