Highlights of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board of Directors Meeting of March 9, 2023


The TNRD held its Board of Directors Meeting in the Twin Rivers Boardroom of the TNRD Civic Building in Kamloops, B.C. The meeting was held in-person and via Zoom, and a recording of the meeting was uploaded to the TNRD’s YouTube channel. You can view the recording here.

1585 Lance Road

Following a public hearing, the Board approved third reading of South Thompson Valley and Pinantan Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw 2767, approved third reading of Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2768 and approved Temporary Use Permit 66. These zone changes will enable a property in Pritchard (1585 Lance Road) to maintain residential and agricultural uses and allow for a second additional dwelling for a family member awaiting supportive housing. Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2798

Following a public hearing, the Board approved third reading of Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2798. The proposed bylaw amendment would rezone a portion of a property in Monte Lake to allow reconstruction of a principal single-family dwelling lost to fire. The proposed bylaw amendment will be taken to a Public Hearing in conjunction with a regular Board meeting. Read the report here.

Temporary Use Permit 65

Following a public hearing, the Board approved Temporary Use Permit 65 to enable a long-term rental within an existing single-family dwelling for up to three years for a property in Whitecroft, at 6952 Upper Louis Creek Road. Read the report here.

Privacy Management Plan

The Board adopted the TNRD Privacy Management Plan (PMP). The PMP is a set of policies, procedures and tools designed to support privacy protection and mitigate impacts of a privacy breach. The PMP will demonstrate the TNRD’s commitment and accountability with respect to the protection of privacy and personal information in all the TNRD systems, programs, activities and operations.
