Corporate Mapping Project Summer Institute, May 2021

Join the Corporate Mapping Project’s third summer institute, offered by the University of Victoria Department of Sociology. The course is open to graduate students in social science disciplines at any Canadian university (for students at universities participating in the Western Deans Agreement, the course may be eligible for transfer credit). The Institute will be delivered either entirely online or in a hybrid mode with some students participating in person and others online. Students not physically present in Victoria, BC, will be able to take the course.

Nehru Humanitarian Award

The Centre for India and South Asia Research (CISAR) at The University of British Columbia, invites submissions for the 2020 Nehru Humanitarian Graduate Scholarship in Indian Studies. The annual $1,000 scholarship is offered by Dr. and Mrs. D. P. Goel to a graduate student pursuing the political, historical, economic, religious, social, or cultural study of India. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, in accordance with findings of the Adjudication Committee of the Centre for India and South Asia Research.

The Biodesign Working Group, a partnership of Cumulus Association and Biodesign Challenge, welcomes paper submissions that explore the emerging field of biodesign. The Call is titled Foundations of Biodesign: Integrating Art, Design, and Biology. Selected papers will be published in both the Cumulus Conference Proceedings and in Biodesigned, the bimonthly online magazine published by Biodesign Challenge.

Call for Proposals: BC Parks Living Lab for Climate Change & Conservation Program

BC Parks is accepting project proposals for our Living Lab for Climate Change and Conservation Program for 2021-2022. The mission of the Living Lab Program is to encourage climate change research in protected areas that documents changes in BC’s natural world, and that guides protected area management for an uncertain future. Funding is being offered to support public academic researchers to conduct climate change research in B.C.’s protected areas.
