As the main service centre for central BC, and a significant transportation crossroads, it is well situated to distribute that fuel across 70% of the provincial landmass. An international airport, CN Intermodal terminal, and direct rail connection to the Ports of Prince Rupert all offer ready export access.

The City will work with partners throughout the region to streamline project permitting, increase the adoption and knowledge of hydrogen among industry, including commercial producers and users, as well as the general public, and increase investment and economic development in the region.

Completing this project will be of importance for achieving policy actions outlined both in the City’s Official Community Plan, Strategic Plan, and Economic Development Strategy, and in the BC Hydrogen Strategy, and ultimately advancing the hydrogen sector in BC.
