The Fraser Highway One-Way Project will improve the area for our businesses, residents, and visitors. It includes replacing aging underground infrastructure and revitalizing the Fraser One-Way with more greenery, new gathering spaces, and better pedestrian amenities.

Notice of upcoming road closure on March 31: Fraser Highway from 204 Street to Salt Lane 

Starting March 31, 2025, Phase 2 will begin, closing Fraser Highway between 204 Street and Salt Lane to vehicle traffic and on-street parking. The road is anticipated to reopen by the end of August 2025. Pedestrian access will remain open along all areas of the project, and wayfinding signage will be posted to help identify business locations. 

Detour Information:

  • Vehicle traffic will be detoured onto Glover Road/56 Ave and can enter Fraser Highway via Salt Lane.
  • Vehicles will exit Fraser Highway at 206 Street.

Parking Updates:

  • Before March 31: Parking between Salt Lane and 206 Street from the first phase of the project will reopen. Surface works will continue to take place on sections of this roadway throughout April.
  • March 31 to August 2025: Parking will be temporarily unavailable between 204 Street and Salt Lane to complete the final phase of the project.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the area. All properties along the Fraser Highway One-Way have been notified of the upcoming road closure.

Installation of silva cells

Silva cells are structures installed underneath the boulevard to support healthy tree growth.

Preparation for new sidewalks

The new sidewalks will feature a smooth concrete finish, enhancing accessibility for pedestrians accessing businesses. 


 

Upcoming works starting March 31

Transitioning to Phase 2

Fencing, lighting, and signage will be installed between 204 Street and Salt Lane to support the transition to the second Phase of construction.

Road surface removal 

As the project proceeds to Phase 2, the existing asphalt and concrete road surfaces between 204 Street and Salt Lane will be removed. 


 

Things to know as construction continues

Construction will generally occur during the day, but some work may take place on weekends or at night. Noisy construction activities won’t be allowed at night. Learn more about the City's Noise Control Bylaw.

As construction continues, vibrations will occur.

• Limited off-street parking is available between Salt Lane and 206 Street.

Work progress dates are based on anticipated construction schedules and may change as work continues.


 

Businesses are open

Access to businesses along the Fraser Highway One-Way will be maintained. You can enter these businesses through their front doors

Traffic control signage and personnel will ensure safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles during construction.

Free parking available throughout the Fraser Hwy One-Way in phases

• Phase 1 (Jan–Mar 2025): some parking will be available on the One-Way between Salt Lane and 204 Street

• Phase 2 (Mar–Aug 2025): some parking will be available on the One-Way between 206 Street and Salt Lane

• Langley City Hall: 37 free parking stalls
