| Messages from Executive Leadership Team | Appointment of Vice President, Provincial Clinical and Support Services | Message from Derek Miller, Chief Operating Officer, Saskatchewan Health Authority I am very pleased to welcome Kevin Hare as Vice President, Provincial Clinical and Support Services, effective June 1, 2026. Kevin joins us with more than two decades of senior clinical operations leadership experience. Most recently, he served as Senior Executive Director of Clinical Operations at BC Cancer, where he was accountable for six regional cancer centres across British Columbia. Prior to that, he held leadership responsibilities at Fraser Health, where he advanced quality, safety, and system transformation across twelve hospitals. Kevin brings a strong combination of operational expertise, academic achievement, and commitment to continuous improvement. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University and formal training in quality improvement. He is also a published researcher, with contributions to the Journal of Advanced Nursing and the BC Medical Journal. An energetic and patient-focused leader, Kevin is known for his calm and practical approach, his ability to navigate change with integrity, and his commitment to listening, building strong teams, and advancing high-quality care. He is well positioned to support patients, providers, and teams across the province. Kevin and his family are relocating to Saskatoon from Furry Creek, British Columbia, and are looking forward to becoming part of the Saskatchewan community. Please join me in welcoming Kevin to the Saskatchewan Health Authority as he begins this important new role. I would like to thank Richard Dagenais for providing interim leadership to the Provincial Clinical and Support Services portfolio through the duration of the recruitment process and transition. We are grateful for his steadfast commitment and leadership during this period. Richard lives the SHA CARES values every day in all he does – we greatly appreciate it. Richard will return full-time to his role as Executive Director of Medical Imaging Services. | Public Service Announcements and News Releases | Expansion of Virtual Access to Addiction Medicine | The Virtual Access to Addiction Medicine (VAAM) program is expanding to additional communities and surrounding areas, including Arborfield, Carrot River, Choiceland, Esterhazy, Hudson Bay, Kahkewistahaw First Nation, La Ronge, Melville, Pinehouse, Porcupine Plain, Tisdale and Yorkton. | Tips and tricks to avoid ticks | Spring weather and warmer temperatures increase tick activity across the province. Saskatchewan residents are being reminded to take precautions to reduce their risk of exposure to ticks. | SHA CARES - Living our Values | During National Nursing Week, we recognize and thank nurses for the compassion, skill and dedication they bring to patient care every day. In communities like Melfort, Nurse Practitioners such as Trent Leland are helping make a meaningful difference for patients and families. As registered nurses with advanced education, Nurse Practitioners can assess patients, diagnose illnesses, order tests, and provide treatment, offering timely and comprehensive care close to home. For many patients, this means better access to the support they need, when they need it. Whether managing chronic conditions, addressing new health concerns, or guiding patients through their care journey, Nurse Practitioners play a vital role in strengthening the health system. This week and every week, we extend our sincere gratitude to all nurses for the care, commitment and expertise they bring to our communities. | Recognition and Appreciation | National Nursing Week is May 11 - 17, 2026 | Nursing is more than clinical skill. It’s compassion, teamwork, and showing up during life’s hardest moments. This National Nursing Week, we’re celebrating all nurses who support patients and families, adapt in seconds, and make a lasting impact every day. Thank you to all nurses for your dedication, strength, and heart. | Celebrating our nursing teams across the province | Thank you to all who submitted photos of your nursing teams to be featured for National Nursing Week! | Humboldt District Hospital | Meadow Lake Hospital - Medical and Surgical Ward | Kindersley and District Health Centre - Acute Care Unit | Assistant Head Nurse Jill-Ann Snider creatively transformed individual photos of each team member into vintage-style nursing portraits, placing them in historical battlefield hospitals, early care centers, and old-fashioned nursing settings. Each image was thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique personality and character of the nurse it represents. It was a fun and meaningful way to celebrate our team, recognize the history of nursing, and highlight the individuality and dedication each nurse brings to patient care every day. | Weyburn Community Health Services - Public Health Nurses | Nipawin - Pineview Lodge, Continuing Care | May 15 Nursing Week event - Regina General Hospital location update | Catch the premiere of the SHA Emergency Room Nursing Video, featuring exclusive, never-before-seen interviews with our dedicated ER staff. Please note that our location has changed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding - May 15th | 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. Regina General Hospital – Room 3/4

Thank you for your attention and cooperation. | eHR Viewer Access to patient-uploaded Health Care Directives (HCDs) | Starting May 25, providers and care team members with access to the eHR Viewer can view Health Care Directives (HCDs) uploaded by patients through MySaskHealthRecord (MSHR). This enhancement supports more connected, patient centered care by providing timely access to information that reflects patients’ wishes and values. Access to HCDs in the eHR Viewer supports patient autonomy, enables province wide sharing at any time, and helps care teams deliver goal concordant care. HCDs should inform shared decision making conversations; patients with capacity can change or revoke directives at any time, so confirming documents are current remains best practice. For more information visit the links below: Watch SHA Rounds for an Advance Care Planning Program Huddle Talk on May 21/26 highlighting updated clinical documents. Technical support is available through the eHealth Saskatchewan Service Desk at 1-888-316-7446 or servicedesk@eHealthSask.ca. | Coming June 1 – new child protection reporting duties and support | Effective June 1, 2026, the new Child Protection: Reporting Duties and Support Procedure (SHA-07-003P5) will be officially released. It provides clear guidance on reporting, documentation, and supporting children and families. The procedure will be available on E-Learn beginning June 1, 2026. All team members are encouraged to review it upon release to ensure we meet our legal obligations and support child safety across the SHA. | Safety Talk - Sharing the road with wildlife | Do you encounter wildlife while driving for work or on your commute?
