New Year...
New Planning Projects

In 2025, staff are looking to bring forward reports to Council on various intitiatives.  Look out for future newsletters with more information as these different projects advance.

Housing Incentive Policies:
Staff will be seeking Council's direction to bring forward bylaws allowing fee reductions for specific housing developments, with greater support for more affordable housing.

Tenant Protection Options:
Council asked staff to provide options on tenant protection policies, recognizing the impacts to vulnerable residents when older motels and rental buildings are redeveloped.  Staff will be presenting Council with new tools available to local government for tenant protection.

Visioning for the Penticton Yacht Club and Tennis Club Area:
Technical review and land use visioning will occur in 2025 to imagine the future of this area, to support user groups and improve these community amenities.

Tactical Affordable Housing Plan:
Work will continue on collaborative efforts with the community housing sector to identify non-market housing partnerships and land opportunities to build much-needed affordable housing.
