Youth Christmas Market

We fuel the entrepreneurial spirit and artistic passions of young artisans by providing a venue for selling crafts and a meeting place for like-minded individuals to share new ideas and learn the business side of marketing arts and crafts. Proudly supporting our local youth artists and talented crafters. This is an exciting opportunity for young artisans to showcase and sell their crafts. It offers the chance to learn a little bit about business and gets local young people into the entrepreneurial spirit. Sweet treats and live music will be available at the market.

Family Christmas Concert: Delta Music Makers Band

Everyone is invited to an early Christmas concert by two community bands on December 9, Tuesday, 7:30pm, at Ladner Community Center. The youth band Marcato and the adult Delta Music Makers will put you in the Christmas spirit and have you singing along. For admissions, please bring a non-perishable item for the Ladner Food Bank.

Christmas Concert: Delta Concert Band

Celebrate the beauty of the season with our traditional Christmas Concert, featuring an evening of timeless carols and holiday melodies. We are thrilled to be joined by the Vancouver Orpheus Chamber Ensemble (VOCE), whose rich harmonies will make this a truly unforgettable night of music and merriment. First come first serve! The Art of Winter

Looking for a festive, fun-filled way to spend the season? Our winter art sessions offer the perfect opportunity to create last-minute holiday gifts, spend quality time with peers, make new friends, and even check off some of that last-minute shopping and wrapping time! All Material included. Registration required. A variety of dates, times and themes to choose from at delta.ca/CulturalServices.

Quilted Advent Calendar Making (12+ years)

Join instructors from the Boundary Bay Quilters' Guild to learn how to make a beautiful, quilted advent calendar with pockets to hide things in each day. This workshop takes place over two Sundays. All materials are provided including tea and coffee. Please bring your own sewing machine or contact us if you need to borrow one - djhdc@delta.ca. Beginner sewing machine skills required.

Felt Wreath Making (5 - 8 years, 8 - 12 years)

Make a wreath from felt with the Boundary Bay Quilters' Guild. We'll stuff our wreaths with wadding and decorate them, so they are ready to go up on your door!

In these festive classes you will have the opportunity to create a faux stained glass Christmas tree, paint a step by step instructed Grinch portrait, make a gingerbread house from clay and so much more.

Venetia Pottery – Santa’s Pottery Workshop (6 - 12 years)

Create a decorative plate and matching cup for Santa’s (and your) milk and cookies! Maybe a gingerbread cookie pottery tree decoration, trimmed with icing and candies! On the last day we will have a little Christmas party, playing games and sharing treats, while trying out our new Santa dishes! All dinnerware safe glazes and clay supplies included.

Santa’s Holiday STEAM Workshop (8 - 14 years)

Get your child into the holiday spirit with our festive 3D printing workshop! Design and take home custom holiday decorations (think ornaments, snowflakes, or even mini holiday characters!) Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops if they have one. If not, laptops will be provided.

"We Remember" Veteran Street Banner Program

Earlier this year, Delta partnered with Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 289, Tsawwassen, and Royal Canadian Legion #61, Ladner, and invited residents to submit photos of their family members who served in the Canadian Armed Forces. The photos were used to create street banners recognizing the veteran and their years of service.

49 Veteran Banners were created and decorate the streets of Tsawwassen, Ladner and North Delta.

Holiday Makers

The best part of the holidays is the giving; it is even more meaningful when the gift is handmade. Create a new tradition by making unique and personalized keepsake gifts at either the Tsawwassen Art Centre or North Delta Centre for the Arts. All materials are included and registration is required. Programs include: Watercolour Card Making, Polymer Clay Winter Snow Globes, Hand painted Woodland Animal Ornaments, Hand painted Glass Ornaments, Paint Day the Grinch, Shine and Bright Mixed Media Christmas Tree Making and more at delta.ca/CulturalServices.

Shine Bright Mixed Media Christmas Trees (10 - 16 years)

Make wonderful colourful multi-media Christmas trees using acrylic paint, gems, modelling paste, sparkles and more. Paint the tree, learn the layering technique and build upon your masterpiece one jewel at a time.

These Winter-themed art sessions are designed to immerse children in the magic of winter.
