Dear members, dear partners,

With the start of the new school year, Aéro Montréal's work is intensifying.

More than ever, our team is mobilizing to ensure that the work of the past few months bears fruit and to transform the recommendations of the Alliance for the Aerospace Recovery into concrete actions for the benefit of all players in the aerospace industry.

At the same time, Aéro Montréal is representing the aerospace sector within the Relaunch MTL movement. Initiated by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal, this movement is bringing together the city's main economic players. It aims to propose solutions to decision-makers in Ottawa and Québec City for accelerating the economic recovery of Montréal, which has lost 5.7% of the jobs on its region.

The back-to-school season is also an opportunity to maintain our commitment to keeping our members informed of the latest Canadian innovations in our sector. At the end of August, we launched a series of webinars in collaboration with a long-time partner, Aviation Week. More than 160 people participated in the first webinar about supply chain challenges.

We will continue this week with a focus on sustainable aviation. To stay in the race, the industry will have to work hand-in-hand with governments. What levers could it use to accelerate this transition to a greener industry? To learn more about these challenges I invite you to join us on Thursday, September 10, at 11 a.m.Without a doubt, efforts are increasing to revive our sector. I firmly believe that, together, we will overcome this crisis and emerge stronger.

I wish you all a good start to the new school year,

Can government make aviation sustainable?

On a global scale, the COVID-19 crisis forced us to re-think ways of travelling. The crises consolidated the aerospace community’s commitment to build a sustainable industry.

In recent years, Canadian aerospace companies were distinguished by their investment in research and development. They illustrated their ability to stand out in biofuels, new propulsion methods and cleaner engines. To stay in the race, industry will need to work hand in hand with government.

Can government make aviation sustainable?

Join us on September 10, at 11.00 am (EST)!

Relaunch MTL | Together for the economic recovery!

The health crisis related to COVID-19 has quickly turned into an economic crisis of unprecedented proportions. Today, the business community and companies in all sectors are facing new challenges. More than ever, the mobilization of all the players in the city’s economic ecosystem is crucial to the recovery of Montréal’s economy. We need to create a movement of solidarity and commitment in order to accelerate the economic recovery and the transformation of our industries for the post-COVID-19 era.

This is why the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal has created the initiative: Relaunch MTL.

Relaunch MTL’s mission is to identify business opportunities, review our ways of working, and determine how our industries can become even more innovative and resilient. Relaunch MTL aims to create a forum for discussions among multiple sectors, to encourage the sharing of best practices and knowhow, and to propose concrete actions to help decision-makers deploy an approach that is well aligned with the needs of various sectors.

Aéro Montréal is very proud to be collaborating as a partner in this major initiative.
