Message from the President | | Dear members, dear partners, Nearly 500 of you joined us for the Strategic Aerospace Forum held in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal on Monday. I would like to thank you warmly for your participation. The solutions you discovered for the industry’s recovery are a perfect introduction to the topics that will be the focus of our next event: the International Aerospace Innovation Forum, which will be held from December 14 to 15, 2020. The importance of innovation in the context of the crisis and Canada’s strengths in this area, rethinking safe travel, tomorrow’s greener and more autonomous travel, the strength of market diversification for companies and the importance of establishing strategic partnerships with governments are just some of the topics we will be addressing together, connected virtually with participants from around the world. Recent ministerial interventions have highlighted the importance of improving the public’s perception of our industry to gain the government support so critical to its future. The federal government’s call is clear: “help us to help you.” So, could there ever be a better time for our International Aerospace Week - Montréal 2020, more specifically the International Aerospace Innovation Forum to pave the way towards an industry that is rethought, greener, more transparent and, above all, adapted to our new reality? Don’t wait any longer: get on board now for the rethought smart journey. I hope to see many of you there. | | | | | | Aéro Montréal is seeking a bilingual Executive Assistant to support the President in carrying out numerous strategic files. The objective of this ambitious project is to develop a plan to improve access for women, racialized persons, people who identify as LGBTQ2+, people living with disabilities, as well as First Nations, Inuit and Métis to positions of influence and leadership on corporate boards and in senior management. This is why the government is challenging Canadian businesses to promote inclusion and increase representation of various underrepresented groups in their ranks. Diversity in the workplace is an asset for companies, and the 50 – 30 Challenge will help strengthen the measures already taken in favour of diversity in many Canadian companies and encourage other organizations to adopt new measures in this direction. We invite you to take up the challenge of diversity in the workplace so that together we can continue to build successful and innovative businesses! To participate, simply complete the 50-30 Challenge form. | | | | | The latest news about the Québec aerospace industry. | | | | | | Air Transat chooses Avianor from Mirabel for a maintenance visit on an A330 | Avianor, a leader in the aerospace industry for more than 25 years, has been selected by Air Transat for a "c-check" maintenance visit on one of its A330 wide-body aircraft. | | Bombardier announces closing dates, amended terms for sale of aerostructures business to Spirit AeroSystems Holding, Inc. | | Bombardier announced it has entered into an amended definitive agreement to sell its aerostructures business to Spirit AeroSystems Holding, Inc.
