Use of a mobile speed camera at the Highway 40 East on-ramp between Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants and the service road

Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue advises the public that the construction site at the Highway 40 East on-ramp between Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants and the service road may now be monitored by a mobile speed camera.

  • Name of the construction site and project: Hydro-Québec Pipelines and Underground Structures

  • Directions subject to monitoring: the on-ramp to Highway 40 East between Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants and the service road

  • Radar device location (targeted section): The speed camera will be located near the access ramp connecting Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants to Highway 40 East

  • Speed camera monitoring period: Monitoring will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from October 22 to December 18, 2026

  • New applicable speed limit: 30 km/h

The use of a mobile speed camera is made possible following an agreement between the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the Montreal Police Service, which has observed numerous violations at this road construction site.

Signs installed in advance will inform road users. The sign in question features, on an orange background, the pictogram used elsewhere on the road network to indicate the possible presence of a speed camera.

When a violation is detected by a speed camera, no demerit points are added to the vehicle owner’s record, but the fine is doubled if the violation occurs in a roadwork zone.

For everyone’s safety, please respect the signs in place.

Thank you for your understanding.
