Wiggle Worms Wellness

Families are invited to connect to themselves intentionally and playfully and be guided through various asana poses, meditations, and reflections. For caregivers and children, ages 4-10. Please bring yoga mats. Saturday February 4, 10am at L.E. Shore Library.

ACC Presents: Things That Used to Matter - The Author's Talk

Meet the contributors to "Things That Used To Matter", the latest book published by The Ginger Press, at the L.E. Shore Gallery on Tuesday, February, 21 at 7pm.

Anthologist Joan Beecroft has collected essays from 32 local writers which explore their feelings about what used to be important, and no longer is. Particularly impacted by the pandemic, the things documented include everything from not wearing makeup and jewellery during the mask-up, to life challenges such as losing weight, and leaving a spouse.

Celebrating the Colours Black & White exhibit launches February 4

The Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of its annual, colour themed exhibit. Join us Saturday, February 4 from 2-4pm for the opening reception of this immersive experience, where the Gallery will be filled with black and white themed art.

Andrea and Alessia

Congratulations Andrea & Alessia!

After almost seven years as Curator at the Craigleith Heritage Depot, Andrea Wilson has retired. As Curator, Andrea brought new and dynamic ideas to the museum. Alessia Farris has taken over the role of Curator having started at the museum as a student in 2016 and working her way up over the past 7 years.

Library Board Update

Your new BMPL Board met for our first meeting and set the new start time for meetings as 1:00pm in the LES Boardroom. Community is invited to attend in person, watch on Facebook, or view later on YouTube. The Board of seven has six new members and held an orientation the morning of January 19. Additional orientation will occur with Council on February 6, as well as with the Ontario Library Board Association and the Ontario Library Service in the coming weeks. On Monday, January 30, the CEO and Chair will be presenting an orientation to Council in Chambers. Congrats to Laurey Gillies who was elected 2023 Chair of the Board and Julia Scott elected 2023 Vice Chair of the Board. Next meeting we will be reviewing the proposed 2023 budget.
