Our Technologies in the Aquaculture Market

Salmon farming in the sea often requires a great expense in energy to keep the installations running smoothly. Bubble Tubing® systems offer easy to integrate compressed air innovations, using the upwelling effect created by the release of bubbles at depth.

Bubble curtains and SalmoAir® upwelling systems deliver substantial savings,
consuming up to 70% less energy than the competition.

Bubble Curtains to Deflect Jellyfish
and Toxic Algae

Varieties of jellyfish, algae and other micro-organisms have proliferated in many climates where salmon farming occurs. Bubble curtains
offer a viable, non-intrusive method of mitigating the impact of these intruders in aquaculture cages.

SalmoAir®, Upwelling Disc

SalmoAir® upwelling systems have significantly reduced the energy costs associated with moving large amount of water needed to maintain healthy growing conditions for fish farmers such as keeping water cooled and control of sea lice.

Upwelling

CFD modeling allows us to predict the optimal location of SalmoAir® upwelling diffusers to reduce the risk of harmful algae blooms (HABs) and fish mortality caused by warm water. In addition, we can precisely predict water temperature using historical temperature data and tidal movements.

Debris Deflection

For debris deflection, CFD modeling allows us
to determine the effectiveness to mitigate floating organic masses such as jellyfish or sargassum with Bubble Tubing®. This service allows us to optimize the placement of the bubble curtains to deliver the best results for the customer's needs.

Bubble Tubing® Community
Here's one of our recent bubble curtain installations in La rivière d'Auray, in France. A double bubble curtain was installed in the river to hold back the turbidity plume created when a new wastewater pipe was silted up.
