To an audience of 450+ medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, integrative physicians, researchers, nurses, patient advocates, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals from around the world. The IHC data was very well-received and has since led to very exciting interest for collaboration on future research efforts from several hospitals and research bodies, including the University of Calgary, Harvard Medical School, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and the University of Kansas Medical School. Our recently launched PRISM Foundation (https://prismfoundation.ca/) and the IHC research group are now actively engaged in various qualitative and quantitative research projects. We are now starting the process of raising awareness of our work and goals, and our fundraising campaigns. Starting with our “Giving Tuesday Campaign”. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/give-the-gift-of-healing-prism-ihc-givingtuesday-c/ Meanwhile, our team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and support staff continues to provide the highest level of care for our cancer patients. We can see firsthand the impact of our IHC approach on their cancer care. We can see how much we improve their quality of life and their overall survival. We can see our treatments even improving very advanced cases of metastatic cancers, when all standard treatments failed. Seeing this with our own eyes, and hearing about it from our patients and their family members, continues to provide us with the inspiration, motivation, and energetic commitment to continue this good work. One step at a time, we at Integrated Health Clinic are working to change the future of cancer care in British Columbia, in Canada, and the world over. Sincerely yours, Dr. Gurdev Parmar, ND, FABNO(USA) | ✨Research Participation Opportunity✨ | With the many changes at Integrated Health Clinic over the next month, we want to emphasize our commitment to the continuity of your healthcare. In fact, according to the Menopause Foundation of Canada, one in ten women may leave the workforce due to unmanaged symptoms of menopause. The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) welcomes today’s announcement by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to remove broad ‘black box’ warnings from MHT products for menopause treatment, and hopes that this step will further encourage women to explore MHT as a potential treatment option based on consultation with their physician. Due to a study conducted in the early 2000s, women were, and continue to be, fearful about the use of MHT as a treatment for menopausal symptoms. Since then, the science has been reanalyzed, and the SOGC continues to work tirelessly to help women make the best decision for their own personal menopause journey based on the latest evidence and science. Nevertheless, access to a primary health care provider is a significant issue across Canada, as well as the costs associated with treatment for symptoms. Women deserve equitable access to care and treatment options without the burden of decisions based on their income. In 2021, the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (JOGC) issued a guideline indicating that ‘for the management of vasomotor symptoms, menopausal hormone therapy is the most effective option and can be safely initiated in women without contraindications who are younger than 60 years of age or less than 10 years post-menopause.’ In an era of growing mis- and disinformation being used in the health care space, the SOGC welcomes this development and hopes it will encourage women to explore all options to help treat the common symptoms of menopause. For more information about treatment options, please visit the SOGC’s public educational site: menopauseandu.ca.👈 Dr. Karen Parmar, ND Co-founder, Director of IHC | Doctor Favourite Receipes | Ingredients: 4 medium yams ¼ coconut oil 1 medium onion, diced 2 medium carrots, diced 2 stalks celery, diced 4-inch piece of ginger, chopped 2 Tbsp madras curry powder 2 tsp sambal oeluk (or chilli garlic sauce) 4 cups coconut milk 4 cups stock (of choice) 4 tsp fresh lime juice | | Directions: - Preheat oven to 400℉.
