Through its program, Cool 'Hood Champs, CALP trains and empowers local residents to become climate champions in their neighbourhood. Sam's actions were noticed and featured on Radio Canada, which can be found here. Sam states why she decided to partake in CALP: "Through my classes, I found that many health problems I was passionate about fighting against like cancer, Parkinson’s, Dementia, inequality, obesity, etc... were related to poor policy and environmental damage set on the planet... I have learned that climate change could be the biggest health risk society will face, and I want to apply everything I've learned toward fighting against climate change and working to empower others to do the same."
